Hi! I’m Marissa.
I’m Marissa Moore, investor at OMERS Ventures, equal parts tech & vino enthusiast, animal lover, and Beantown transplant living in the Bay.
This site is a home for my world of work and passion projects. I use it to organize and share my thoughts, promote events, and create opportunities to connect. It’s also where you can sign up to join in any or all of the above.
Welcome!
My journey so far
I grew up in the South Shore of Boston, where I learned the proper way to break down a lobster, how to use “wicked” as an all-purpose adjective, and to embrace the highs and lows of being a Boston sports fan. An overachiever at heart, I juggled AP classes, sports, music, and part-time work before earning my AB in Molecular Biology from Princeton University. Though I started my career in institutional equity sales, drawn by the energy of Wall Street and a desire to stretch beyond my comfort zone, I never lost my curiosity for healthcare and life sciences. That curiosity led me to pursue dual master’s degrees from Johns Hopkins while working in finance, combining my love for research with a drive to understand healthcare from new angles.
Over the years, my career has spanned equity sales, equity research, digital health market research, and venture capital. Each chapter, from being an early employee at a startup research firm to analyzing telehealth trends during the pandemic, sharpened my skills and fueled my passion for innovation. Today, I help lead the vertical software/AI investing strategy at OMERS Ventures, with an emphasis on data-rich, complex industries (e.g., healthcare & life sciences, industrial & supply chain, etc.). I thrive on learning, connecting with brilliant people, and supporting ambitious founders. Whether diving into the nuances of a specific business or exploring the complexities of an entire industry, it’s all in service of finding the next generation of great companies who will make the world a healthier, happier place.
